This is the best toothpaste I've used for tooth sensitivity. It's only drawback is no floride.I ran out of my Tom's and had to use a sample of Crest and one of Colgate recently. AWFUL tasting. I'd forgotten that both those companies use saccharin sweetener as well as xylitol. Horrible, long-lasting taste and gritty texture. I will never switch from Tom's and am grateful they are animal-friendly and don't test in animals.I'e used both for a couple months or more each. The toothpaste with potassium nitrate takes longer, you shouldn't rinse your mouth for 7 minutes to give it time to work or it doesn't. Rapid relief doesn't have to be left on and doing so does not appear to help but I found that when I get my teeth cleaned the rapid relief left me with some sensitive spots that the potassium nitrate did not. I'm planning to get a tube of the potassium nitrate version to use for a day or 2 before I see the dentist but will use Rapid Relief daily since it's quicker and easier.I used Sensodyne for years, and it worked well, but then it stopped working. Tom's took over as an effective substitute.Tom’s arrived today and I brushed. Pain gone. My dentist found no issue with what I thought was a loose crown. X-ray was negative. He suggested Tom’s of Maine because it seals pain tubules. &Tom's as a product is generally great but customer service is terrible. I ordered only one tube of this new product for sensitive teeth to try it, they sent me a package of three. I asked for a label to return them and paid for the return. The package was sent back to me because they said the period for returns had passed. So, not only did they make me pay for a package of three tubes when I wanted only one, but they also cost me $10 in postage. Not nice.Works great, I've had perfect checkups using this toothpaste and it works great for reducing sensitivity.I don't tell my dentist I've been using non fluoride toothpaste for the past 3 years as he is always pushing fluoride.Seems like you really don't have to ingest poison to take care of your teeth.My hygienist is commenting on how clean my teeth are during every checkup.Expensive, but works very well.
